Tapas and a Cup o’ Joe

The Frederick Coffee Co. and Café on East Street has added tapas— a variety of appetizers or snacks first originating in Spanish cuisine—to their “off hours” menu. Tapas have been available for about a month and provide customers with a less-filling alternative to some of the larger fare on the menu. The light option is perfect when listening to the live music and entertainment. Tapas are available from 4 p.m. until the kitchen closes, but if you’d like them earlier in the day, just ask; the staff will always oblige. Daily tapas menu includes queso and chips, café chicken satay, hummus, veggie and pita tray, turkey pinwheel, and the feisty feta bruschetta. www.fredcoffeeco.com
