Farms, Trolleys, and Mountain Life: The Towns of the Middletown Valley
May 17 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pmFree
President Andrew Jackson described the Middletown Valley as “one of the most favored and delightful spots on earth.” In addition to the magnificent scenery each of the Valley’s towns has it own unique story to tell. The presentation, sponsored by the Myersville-Wolfsville Area Historical Society, will explore some of the episodes that contributed to the rich history of these remarkable communities: Braddock Heights, Burkittsville, Harmony, Ellerton, Middletown, Myersville, and Wolfsville. Our presenter, local historian and author Bob Savitt, will include many photos, some of which date from the 1800s. The program will take place at the Myersville Fire Hall. There will be a social hour with free refreshments following the lecture.
