The Frederick Symphony Orchestra’s small ensemble will perform the season final Spotlight Series concert “Mozart on the Civil War Trail” at 3 PM on Sunday, Feb 11, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church (107 W Main Street, Middletown, MD 21769)
The concert will feature Ludwig van Beethoven’s Septet in Eb Major, Op. 20 and a selection of Civil War songs by the orchestra’s brass ensemble. The concert will also include Camille Saint-Saens’ Septet in Eb Major, Op. 65 (15), as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp in C Major, K. 299. The latter will be performed by soloists Paulela Burchill and Casey Perley.
After the concert, a special presentation will commemorate Zion Lutheran Church’s role as a former field hospital and rededicate the church’s Civil War-era clock.
