Island Celebration

More than 850 revelers turned out  for the Rotary Club of Frederick’s annual Leprechaun Luau  in March at the Frederick Fairgrounds’ Eventplex. Decked out in Emerald Isle green and Polynesian flowers, the revelers enjoyed music from the Rockville Pipe & Drum Corps and Donegal Xpress, as well as Irish and Polynesian dancing. The menu included Flying Dog Beer (including Lucky SOB Irish Red Ale, brewed with real 4-leaf clovers), frozen concoctions from The Margarita Man and a multi-cultural feast that featured everything from corned beef to teriyaki chicken with coconut rice. The event raised an estimated $40,000, which will be used to underwrite The Rotary Club of Frederick’s service projects in the community.
