Looking for the perfect gift for family or friends who may have moved away from Frederick but in their hearts still call it home? Consider purchasing iTour’s new 55-minute DVD tour of Frederick. Based on content developed for a smart phone app released last summer, the virtual tour covers the city’s early history, including the role of slavery and African-Americans in the city’s development, as well as more recent pivotal moments in Frederick’s story, such as the devastating flood of 1976. The DVD is available for $12 at the Frederick County Visitors’ Center, Dancing Bear Toys, Ec’clectibles, Flights of Fancy, The Loft at AI and at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine and the Historical Society of Frederick County. Proceeds from sales will benefit the Historical Society and the Tourism Council of Frederick County.
